About Me

Creating A Gorgeous Home After I built my dream home, I realized that there were a few changes we needed to make to the interior. For starters, I knew that I needed to do something to make the interior decor special, so I started focusing more and more on making the space special. I started working with a professional painter and wallpaper hanger, and he really did wonders in making my home look and feel different and unique. I wanted to create a blog all about creating a gorgeous home, so I made this website. I hope you find articles that will inspire you to make your space better.

How To Prepare Your Space Before You Paint

When you paint, there are a few things that you need to make sure that you do when you paint your home if you want the paint job to be successful.

Always Prepare Your Workspace

To start with, you want to always prepare your workspace before you start painting. Spending the proper amount of time preparing your workspace before you start painting will help ensure that the painting process goes smoothly. If you want a professional looking job done, you need to spend the proper amount of time preparing your workspace first.

Move Furniture

The first thing you need to do is more furniture and items out of the room that you want to paint. You can move the items to the middle of the room and cover them up if that is easier for you. However, removing the items from your space will give you more room to work with.

Protect the Floors

Second, you need to protect the floors of the room that you will be painting. It is best to cover up the entire floor. Paint can easily fly off your paint brush and onto an uncovered part of the floor if you only cover up near where you will be painting. Put down a plastic sheet, tarp, or drop cloth on the floor and secure it in place with tape.

Cover Up Outlets

With outlets, you have two choices. You can take a screwdriver and remove the outlet. Or you can put paint around the outlet. It is best to cover up the outlet so that paint does not get inside of the outlets and create another mess for you to clean up later.

Protect the Door Frame

After that, you are going to want to protect your door frame. The best way to protect your door frame is to tape it up. Place the tape right against the edge of the door frame and the wall, folding the painter's tape around the door frame. Cover up all of the visible door frame. For closets, put paper over them so that you don't get paint on them and for doors that you will be going in and out of, cover up the inside of the door with paper or keep the door open while painting.

Staging Area

Finally, create a staging area where all the paint supplies will go. You can put this staging area on a table. If you put the staging area on the ground, be sure to put down extra layers of plastics to protect the ground.

You are going to want to make sure that you prepare the room you want to paint in before you start painting. This will make the painting process go smoother and will ensure that you get a professional look. For more information, contact a company like AMAZING PAINTING SERVICES.
